Karel Safar was born on May 28th 1938 in Rychnov na Kneznou. He studied at the College of Applied Arts, Prague, under profesor Karel Svolinský.
Karel Safar works in painting and prinrmaking, using well-mastered techniques through which he expresses his ideas about the meaning of life and the significance of ethical and aesthetic values.
Karel Safar ranks among the most prominent figures of Czech graphic and painting.
